While demanding to revoke transfer order of CHC Wangoi Medical Officer In-charge, Dr N Sushila, various women’s groups of Wangoi area have threatened to lock down the OPD of the Community Health Center (CHC) with effect from April 3.
The MO In-charge had been transferred as Senior MO at CMO Pool, Imphal West, according to an order by Under Secretary (Health and Family Welfare), Regina Hongray.
The women’s groups contended that Dr N Sushila had been transferred at the CHC as per the wishes of the people of Wangoi assembly constituency on 25 July 2015. While she was assuming the charge of MO of Wangoi CHC, Dr Sushila had done various developmental works and took up various measures to help patients at the health center.
In this connection, representatives of Women’s Social Reformation Center, Wangoi Wahengbam Leikai; The Women’s Improvement Organisation, Wangoi Thoudam Leikai; Wangoi Makha Leikai Meira Paibi Lup; Kaidem Leikai Meira Paibi Lup; Thiyam Leikai Meira Paibi Lup; YDUC, Wangoi; Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leisangkhong Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup; Women Welfare Association, Wangoi Thounaojam Leikai; KLYDC, Kaidem Leikai Wangoi and Yumnam Huidrom Awang Leikai Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup convened a public meeting at Wangoi on Thursday.
During the meeting the women’s groups of the area unanimously decided on three points including to condemn the transfer order of the MO In-charge; press the concern government department to cancel the transfer order of Dr N Sushila within April 2 and lock down the OPD counter of the CHC with effect from April 3 if the government failed to cancel the order within the stipulated period.
