Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu arrived in Imphal today to grace the Valedictory function of the State Level Workshop on “Biodiversity and Sustainable Agriculture for Doubling of Farmers’ Income” which will be held at City Convention Centre, Palace Compound.
The Indian Air Force Plane Rajhans carrying the Vice President landed at the Imphal International Airport at 13:50 pm.
On his arrival at the airport, Vice President of India, SM. Venkaiah Naidu was accorded warm welcome led by the Governor of Manipur, Dr. Najma Heptulla, Chief Minister of Manipur, N. Biren Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Joykumar Singh, Works Minister Shri Thongam Biswajit Singh, Health Minister L. Jayantakumar Singh, CAF and PD Minister Karam Shyam, TA & Hills Minister N. Kayisii, MAHUD Minister Th. Shyamkumar, PHED Minister Losii Dikho, Agriculture Minister V. Hangkhanlian, Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen, MP Rajya Sabha K. Bhabananda Singh, Chief Secretary, Dr. J. Suresh Babu, DGP L.M. Khaute, Secretary to CM, Ashok Kumar and other top police and civil officers.
The Joint Battalion of Manipur Rifles and Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) commanded by Deputy Commandant of 7th Battalion Manipur Rifles H. Gyaneshwar Singh presented the Guard of Honour to the Vice President at Raj Bhavan, Imphal.
The Vice President of India is visiting Manipur on his three-day tour program to Assam, Meghalaya and Manipur.
