Vice-president and Chief Representative of JICA likely to visit Imphal

Imphal July 27: Vice-President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Shigeru Kiyama and Chief Representative of the agency Shinya Ejima are likely to visit Imphal on August 7, 2014. Sources said that the two officials of JICA are planning to travel by car and enter Myanmar at Tamu near Moreh in Chandel district after reaching Imphal. It further said that Yu Sasaki, Lead Administration Officer of JICA had written a letter to the Home Department of the state Government in connection with the visit. The letter also enquired if there is any possibility of the two officials of JICA to travel by road to Myanmar. It is also said that the state government in its reply intimated JICA that there is no immigration facility at Moreh and hence it is not possible to travel by road to Myanmar through Moreh. It may be mentioned here that JICA is a governmental organization of the Government of Japan and implementing the official development Assistance with developing countries.
