Chandel, May 4: Vehicular movement along the Imphal-Moreh Section of National Highway No.102 again came to grinding halt due to the indefinite bandh called by the All Tribal Blind Association, Chandel District.
The indefinite bandh was called by the Association in protest against the State Government failing to materialise its earlier assurances of granting full-fledged government school to the Mission Blind School located at Heikakpokpi village in Chandel district.
The bandh supporters including differently Abled persons blocked the section of Imphal-Moreh Highway near Boungjang Village and prohibit private and commercial vehicles to proceed further except vehicles carrying patients and emergency services.
Several commercial vehicles coming from Moreh towards Imphal were stranded near Boungjang Village due to the indefinite bandh.
However, there is no report of any untoward violent incident till filing of this report.
