VDF Welfare Association Thoubal District extends support to bereaved VDF family

The VDF Welfare Association, Thoubal District, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Thoubal, Shivanand Surve, IPS, and Additional SP (L&O) Thoubal, N. Suraj Singh, MPS, extended financial assistance to the family of a deceased Village Defence Force (VDF) personnel.
A monetary aid of Rs. 2,50,000 was handed over to Khangembam Ongbi Roni Devi, wife of late VDF No. 1756 Kh. Dipak Singh, who was posted at Reserved Line Thoubal at DHQ/TBL. The late VDF personnel succumbed to illness on August 21, 2025, while undergoing treatment at District Hospital, Thoubal.
The assistance, drawn from the VDF Welfare Fund, reflects the association’s commitment to stand by its members and their families in times of distress. The Association reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring welfare measures for VDF personnel, who play a crucial role in maintaining law and order at the grassroots level.
On the occasion, the VDF Welfare Association, Thoubal District, also urged the State Government to provide ex-gratia or death benefits to the bereaved family of late VDF Kh. Dipak Singh, stressing that such support is vital to acknowledge the services rendered by VDF personnel.
