VDF personnel awarded for nabbing thief

A VDF personnel who performed his duty with extra alertness and finally nabbed a person who had stolen a huge amount of money from a brick kiln located at Kakching Lamdong has been awarded a sum of Rs. 5000/- for his vigilance and alertness.
The VDF personnel identified as P. Rojitkumar Singh posted at Sora Outpost of Kakching Police Station nabbed a person while trying to escape with a stolen money of Rs. 1,22,000/- at around 3 am yesterday. He was chased after informing his superior office ASI L. Surchandra Singh who is in charge od the Sora Police outpost and finalled nabbed in the middle of a field close to the outpost.
The person arrested has been identified as Thoudam Binod Singh (30 years. He is a resident of Khongjom Sapam Bazar Maning.
According to police statement , VDF personnel R. Rojitkumar Singh while on duty found the said person coming on the way in a suspicious manner at around 3 am yesterday. The perso was reportedly stopped and checked but when asked about a red towel wrapped around his waist, the person fled and following that the VDF after informing to his superior chase him and nabbed in the middle of the paddy field close to the outpost. A sum of Rs. 1,22,000/- was found hidden in the red towel. When asked the person disclosed that he stole the money from a brick kiln located at kakching Lamdong owned by Ksh. Joy Singh of Kakching Sumuk Leikai by breaking the door . He was later arrested and in return to the vigilant of the VDF personnel Rojitkumar, he was awarded a sum of Rs. 5000 / – by the Kakching district police.
