VDF Assn. provides Rs. 3 lakh to family of deceased personnel

The VDF Welfare Association, Thoubal District, has provided financial assistance of Rs. 3 lakh to the family of late VDF (H) No. 151 Thokchom Manglem Singh of Heirok Part-II, who was serving at the VDF Outpost, Heirok B Company, Thoubal District.
Thokchom Manglem Singh passed away on May 21, 2026, following a road accident.
The death benefit was handed over to his wife, Th. Sonamani Devi, during a programme held at the office chamber of the Superintendent of Police, Thoubal.
The assistance was presented by Manoj Prabhakar M., Superintendent of Police, Thoubal, in the presence of P. Shanker Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police (L&O), Thoubal; Y. Shankerdash Mangang, Reader Officer to the Superintendent of Police, Thoubal; S. Shoba Singh, Cashier to the Superintendent of Police; and members of the Executive Committee of the VDF Welfare Association, Thoubal District.
According to officials, the financial assistance was disbursed from the VDF Welfare Fund, Thoubal District, as part of the association’s commitment to supporting the families of Village Defence Force personnel during times of hardship and bereavement.
