Two cadres of banned armed group URF namely Maipak (40), s/o Mangemcha of Kouthruk Police Station under Imphal West and Ningthoujam Ramesh Singh (35), s/o Toyaima Singh of tairen Pokpi under Imphal West have been apprehended by personnel of 8 AR during an operation at Marangching on Monday evening.
One AK 56 along with ammunitions and a magazine have been recovered from Maipak (army no 110810), who is a Self-styled lieutenant of the group. A lathode gun has been recovered from other cadre.
Both the URF cadres have been handed over to Patsoi Police station along with the article siezed from them.
