Imphal, Mar 20:
In light of the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha elections commencing on April 19, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced on Tuesday the postponement of the civil services preliminary examination to June 16 from its originally scheduled date of May 26. This examination, conducted annually by the UPSC, aims to select candidates for various prestigious positions including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and the Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
The official statement from the UPSC stated, “Due to the scheduling conflicts arising from the impending general election, the commission has opted to reschedule the civil services (preliminary) examination-2024, which also serves as a screening test for the Indian Forest Service examination, 2024, from May 26, 2024, to June 16, 2024.”
The UPSC IAS written exams are slated to occur in two sessions – the General Studies paper and the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT). The General Studies paper is scheduled for the morning session, running from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by the CSAT in the afternoon, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
Candidates can anticipate the release of the UPSC IAS prelims 2024 admit card at least 10 days before the examination. They will be able to download their UPSC Prelims hall ticket 2024 from the official website at upsc.gov.in by providing their registration number, roll number, or date of birth.
Furthermore, the UPSC IAS Main exams are scheduled to commence on September 20 and will span over a five-day period.
