The annual Mega Marathon organised by the United Peoples Front (UPF) will be held on April 12 this year.
Addressing media persons at the office of the United Peoples Front located at Keishamthong Nambul Mapal Laishom Leirak, UPF President Nongthombam Rupachandra stated that the Mega Marathon, which has been organised every year since 2007, will continue this year with all necessary preparations already in place.
The marathon will be conducted in two categories — male and female.
According to the organisers, the first prize carries a cash award of Rs. 40,000, the second prize Rs. 30,000, and the third prize Rs. 20,000. In addition, consolation cash prizes will be awarded to participants securing positions from fourth to fifteenth place in both categories.
The prize money has been sponsored by well-wishers and supporters, the organisers informed.
