The United People’s Front (UPF) Manipur has expressed its gratitude to the public for their support in commemorating the 7th anniversary of “Chahi Taret Khuntakpa” (Seven Years of Devastation) as part of the 191st National Reconsolidation Month. The observance began on December 22, 2024, with a series of events aimed at honoring the state’s history and unity.
The programs commenced at Cachar Awapali on December 22, 2024, followed by tributes at Maharaj Gambhir Singh’s (Iningthou Chinglen Nongdrenkhomba) memorial and the Narsing shrine at Chandrapur, Cachar, on December 23, 2024. Tributes are also planned at Lenglondabi Pat, Cachar, on December 24, 2024, with a memorial gathering scheduled at Ningsing Khubam in Jiribam District on December 25, 2024, to honor the martyrs.
As part of the preparations for the 191st National Reconsolidation Day, district-level camera meetings, public meetings, and poster campaigns will be conducted across various districts of Manipur. The grand event marking the day will take place at Hao Ground, Singjamei Chinga Mathak, Canchipur, on January 9, 2025, with large-scale participation expected.
The UPF revealed that extensive arrangements, including food stalls, transportation, sound systems, stage setups, and ground preparations, are underway to ensure the success of the program. The organization has urged the public to participate actively in these commemorative events, emphasizing their importance in fostering unity and preserving the state’s historical legacy.
