UNMM appeals for full proof investigation into the Khuyathong Blast

The United NGOs Mission Manipur vehemently condemned the powerful bomb blasted at Khoyathong Traffic Point, near Motbung Bus Parking under Lamphel Police Station, Imphal West District around 6.00am on 22 December 2014 which lead to the killing of 3(three) civilians and seriously injuring 4(four) other. In a press statement, The UNMM terms the incident an act of coward, inhuman and senseless plan. The bomb blast took placed in tight security area where security forces are deployed most of hours in and around the Traffic Point of Khoyathong, the statement added.
It said, since 1st January 2014 till 22 December 2014, there are above 60 blasts cases in the state. In such blasts, 28 people were lost their lives including women & minors children and 26 people got injured. Most of the powerful bomb blasts were took places in the zero & some KM of Imphal main city. There were numerous bomb blasts including serious bomb blasts in the state but we don’t find and witness in public domain for arresting perpetrators as well as stem action to those actors who involved such heinous crimes against humanity. Such incidents indicated the poor functioning of Home Department and its concern agencies.
UNMM appeals to our Government to take up stern action such heinous crimes and frame a special mechanism not repeat such crimes and to be uprooted such crimes in the society. Such human insecurity will affect the law and order situation of the state which will deteriorate the state integrity and peace in the state. The incidents are also felt insecurity and trauma to downtrodden innocent people of the state.
Once again, UNMM also strongly condemned such powerful blasts in the public place resulting the killing & injuring civil populace.
In the light of the above facts, UNMM appeals the State Government to establish Special Investigation Team (SIT) to undergo full proof investigation on the bomb blast and also to book the culprit(S) immediately and punish according to the law of the land. The UNMM also demanded for Strengthening Home Department and its intelligence wing and not repeat such crimes.
