UNLF celebrates 53rd Foundation Day

Imphal, Nov 24: Armed rebel group, United National Liberation Front (UNLF) today celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day at the GHQ of its army wing MPA and at other battalion of the outfit along with the people of the state.
A statement of the outfit said that the main observance function was held at the General Head Quarter of the MPA. Chairman of the Central Committee UNLF, Kh Pambei, General Secretary Ph. Yaimachou, COAS –Ng Pamheiba, Secretary Ethnic Minority Ch. Thanil and Health Secretary O Chingkheinganba attended as presidium members. Other officers of various departments of the organization including Principal of the Military Academy, Vice Chief of Army Staff, GSOs, staff officers, Officers of the Party Cadres, NCOs and other cadres of the MPA attended.
As a part of the observance floral tribute were paid to the martyrs who had laid down life for the cause of the revolutionary movement. A two minutes silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed souls. Reading of the annual statement of the central Committee, speech by members of the Central Committee and speech by other top officials of the rebel group mark the observance function.
The 53rd Foundation Day was also observed at other battalion of the MPA including 293 Bn, 291 Bn and other Units. The District committee of the UNLF also observed the 53rd Foundation Day at various other places along with the people of the state, the UNLF statement said.
A sport event organized in connection with the 53rd Foundation day  since November 22 at the general head Quarter also concluded today and prizes were distributed to the winners.
