University of Culture in trouble : A-Block locked down

Imphal, Oct 23: Students of Manipur University Culture, Palace Compound today lock down A-Block department of the university against non-commencement of classes of this year first semester batch.
Speaking to the media persons, Y. Homeshwor, General Secretary of Manipur University of Culture Students’ Union said that despite the fact that many new students have been enrolled for this year first semester in the university, classes have not commenced till date. The Manipur Government has already passed the Manipur University of Culture Bill – 2015, since than from 2016 the first batch classes for the graduate second semester has already begun.
As the University Administrative Block failed to initiate their duty, the union was forced to lock down the department, Homeshwor added.
He also said that the unions have submitted various memorandums for proper infrastructure for the university but till date the concern department have not taken any positive action or fulfilled their demands.
The unions will take up different form of agitation if the concern fails to fulfill their demands at the earliest.
