United College facing teacher shortage; Victor welcome move to upgrade Chakpikarong Govt. High School to Higher. Sec.

Chandel ,  July 29:   Former MLA Victor Nunghlung, appreciated the policy of the government for including Chakpikarong Govt. High School among other schools to be upgraded to Higher Secondary in a press meet held at his residence yesterday.
He appeals the concern authority and govt. that qualified teachers for teaching science and mathematics from valley districts and qualified local teachers for arts subjects may be considered for appointment. He further stressed that the proposed appointment of local teachers is to avoid problems similar to the one United College, Chandel is now facing.
Highlighting the problems and issues United College is currently facing he said that there is not enough teachers left for as many as 24 teachers have been transferred and no replacements made so far. He furthers that during his time as MLA he had taken up the issue of United College to the concern Minister of the time at the assembly session and assurance was given to him. But till now there is no development of any kind and the college is facing shortage of teachers, he stressed.
Victor said he had meeting with Transport Director and District Transport Office Chandel will be in placed within 2/3 months along with the rest of the districts.
