Imphal, Nov 24: Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Faggan Singh Kulaste today inaugurated a Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit and a vital Research & Diagnostic Laboratory at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences today morning.
After inauguration the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare inspected the RIMS campus and its equipments installed.
During the inspection Faggan Singh Kulaste assured the RIMS authorities to bring up the issues of RIMS with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed about promoting the Institution by installing all required equipments.
“This is a hospital under our ministry. For the satisfaction of the people we are planning to further upgrade the institute than what I saw today. As told by the prime minister several times that promotion of rural health sector is one of his vision, the RIMS authority are instructed to complete the units which are under construction and start construction which are not yet started”, said the Union Minister of State.
The Minister also met the patients at wards and interacted with them regarding the service rendered at the hospital.
He also interacted with students and internees of the Dental College of RIMS who had been on strike since yesterday demanding clearance of stipends to the internees at par with that of MBBS items. The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Faggan Singh Kulaste assured to look after their matters and appealed them to revoke their agitation called.
