Union Minister Satish Chandra Dubey reviews schemes in Senapati

Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey visited Senapati on October 26 and reviewed the implementation of Central Government schemes and ongoing development projects in the district.

The Minister chaired a review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, attended by Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S, IAS, ADSP (NH-2) ML Kaisungbou, district officials and representatives of various departments.

Officials from the District Administration, Police, Forest, Health, DRDA, Public Works Department, Public Health Engineering Department, CAF&PD, MSRLM and MSPDCL briefed the Minister on their respective programmes, achievements, ongoing projects and implementation challenges. Public grievances and issues affecting the delivery of government schemes were also discussed.

Dubey called for coordinated efforts to build a self-reliant India by 2047, marking 100 years of Independence. He urged officials to discharge their responsibilities efficiently, improve their skills and ensure that development programmes deliver tangible benefits to intended beneficiaries.

Referring to infrastructure development in the Northeast, he highlighted improvements in national highway networks and railway connectivity, noting that connectivity had long posed a challenge to the region.

The Minister stressed the need to monitor development initiatives at the grassroots level to assess their actual impact. He also encouraged district officials to submit constructive suggestions systematically for consideration by the appropriate authorities and highlighted the importance of engaging institutions, including NITI Aayog, to facilitate follow-up action.

Following the meeting, Dubey visited the District Hospital, Senapati, where he assessed healthcare infrastructure and inspected the ongoing construction of the Super Speciality Ward. He reviewed the project’s progress and took stock of other developmental works at the hospital.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Adahrii Maheo, MCS, who also serves as CEO/ADC, Senapati, along with sub-divisional officers and district-level officials, attended the review meeting.
