Union minister of Social Justice & Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar today visited Chandel district of Manipur and inspected programmes being taken up under the Aspirational Districts Programme. Later, the Minister attended a review meeting of the programs at the Conference Hall of Chandel district Deputy Commissioner.
Deputy Commissioner of Chandel district Mayanglangbam Rajkumar elaborated about the works being taken up under the Aspirational District Programme at Chandel district. Slides of the development programs taken up were also shown.
After the review meeting, the Union Minister visited Chandel district Hospital and various villagers where he interacted with the Doctors and other health care workers and villagers.
Union Minister Virendra Kumar said that Government of India under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been taking up various developmental programs for the people of North East India. He said that under the NITI Ayog, Prime Minister Modi had been giving top priority to develop Education and Health sector.
“Before 2014 no Ministers had visited remote places of the country however post 2014 Union Ministers started visiting remote areas of the country and has been taking up various developmental works under NITI Ayog.
The Minister further added that central minister will continue to visit remote places of the country and will take up more development program through the district administrations.
