Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Govt. of India has approved the state government proposal for establishment of a Pack House and Cold Storage Facility for Fruits and Vegetables at Mao in Senapati district. In a letter forwarded to the Department of Commerce and Industries Govt. of Manipur, the Union Ministry has asked the state department to send the exact land coordinates (Area, Longitude, Latitude) of the site planning to establish the project. The ministry also seeks details about the expected time requirement for acquiring of the land.Official source said that the department of Commerce and Industries, govt. of Manipur had submitted a detail project report for establishment of Pack House and Cold Storage Facility for Fruits and Vegetables at Mao in Senapati district on March 26, 2015. The DPR has been studied by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industries and consulted with the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).The Union Ministry’s communication to the department further stated that the fund for establishment of the project shall be allocated in the coming financial year and for that the state Commerce and department need to submit a final DPR along with the list of exact land coordinates, time requirement for acquisition of the land, current ownership of the land, civil estimate for the facility and layout of the facility.
