The lifeless body of an unidentified man bearing a gunshot wound was discovered abandoned in the vicinity of Waithou Chingol, situated under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal district today morning.
According to credible sources, there are suspicions that the man might have been abducted from another location and subsequently executed at the scene.
The grim discovery was made by passersby in the area during the morning hours. Although the identity of the deceased remains unknown, initial observations suggest that he could be aged above 40 years.
Local law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to the scene and retrieved the body. It has been subsequently transported to the JNIMS Mortuary for post-mortem examination and further investigations.
