United Kuki Liberation front (UKLF) today said that the report appeared at an English newspaper alleging interference by UKLF in the recently held Aimol Tribe Union Election is baseless. In a press statement the outfit said that the people of Aimol Villages has held a meeting and elected their new leader as they are not please with the former ATUM president S. Munthuireng and UKLF has nothing to do with.
The press statement further added that the party consider Aimol tribe as a distinct minority tribe and had shown utmost love and care all these year even by donating gypsy vehicle and returning Natum Chao land which they have sold out.
The UKLF statement said that with the influence of some vested interested persons section of Aimol people are hell-bend tarnishing the good image of the UKLF. It said while the UKLF is trying to protect the minority Aimol tribe some Aimol people are trying to sell away the identity of the tribe. UKLF term this as distressing thing.
The statement appealed the Aimol people not to forget that UKLF is an armed organisation striving toward re-unification of the Kukis and said that the name of the outfit should not be dragged in internal petty issue in future.
