Ukhrul, May 10:

After years of neglect, Greenland Tang, nestled within the Phungyo periphery of Hunphun/Ukhrul town, is experiencing a remarkable resurgence, thanks to the unwavering dedication of Ukhrul MLA Qr. Ram Muivah. Since his election in 2021-2022, MLA Muivah has made it his personal mission to revitalize this once-forgotten area, making it a model of green, clean living once again.
Despite challenges and limited resources, MLA Ram Muivah’s commitment to the community knows no bounds. Recognizing the dire need for infrastructure improvement, particularly the Greenland road connecting NH-202 Wino to Greenland Community Hall along the Eastern circular road of Ukhrul town, he pledged to undertake the project, even if it meant dipping into his own pockets to finance it. True to his word, MLA Muivah addditionally funded the project, ensuring its completion to the satisfaction of all residents.
While many areas in Ukhrul town have seen repairs and renovations, funded by state government allocations, often plagued by delays and poor quality control, the transformation of Greenland Tang stands out as a beacon of progress. Despite being one of the least funded projects, it has become the pride of the community, symbolizing hope and renewal.
Former ADC member of Greenland locality, HA. Vareishang, expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting that Greenland Tang has reclaimed its rightful place after a decade of neglect. He credited MLA Muivah’s honesty and dynamism for the visible improvements, emphasizing the tangible benefits the community now enjoys. “I extend my heartfelt thanks on behalf of my Tang,” Vareishang declared, echoing the sentiments of many residents.
The completed Greenland road has garnered widespread acclaim for its quality workmanship and attention to detail. Elders and denizens alike have expressed their satisfaction, commending MLA Muivah for his proactive approach to community development and welfare.
In addition to MLA Muivah’s efforts, recognition is also due to Eno.Mangang, the MP nominee, for his contribution to the road blacktopping project from Greenland to Tangrei, passing through Ukhrul Veterinary Dispensary Hospital and the Powerhouse (Sub-station), Grl. The contractor’s dedication and willingness to go above and beyond the initial work specifications have further endeared him to the community.
Greenland Tang’s revival serves as a testament to the power of grassroots initiatives and collaborative efforts between elected officials, community members, and local businesses. It underscores the importance of leadership that is not only accountable but also deeply connected to the needs and aspirations of the people it serves.
As Greenland Tang continues to flourish under MLA Muivah’s stewardship, it sets a precedent for other communities to follow, demonstrating that positive change is possible, even in the face of adversity.
