UCM urges to disclose action taken report on the existing NSCN-IM camp in Manipur

The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has urged the Chief Minister of Manipur to disclose the action taken report to the presence of NSCN (IM) camps in Senapati and Chandel districts of Manipur.

A memorandum in the connection has been submitted today. The memorandum stated that some prominent former leaders of the United Naga Council in openly extending ceremoniously designed relief aids to the two well established camps of the NSCN (IM) in Manipur at Huthrong Brigade camp in Senapati and Ashiho Chaomi Battalion in Chandel District on May 8 and 13 as per reported to Eastmojo web portal.

It further said that the incident have definitely proven the unrestrained and open operation of the cadres of the NSCN(IM) inside the territory of Manipur  and added that such operation contradict the declaration of the late Prime minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee  on the 27th of July 2001 that the Ceasefire Agreement between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) was not extended to Manipur .

“Such act of the UNC leaders insults the martyrs of the Great June Uprising of 2001 and provoke the sentiments of the peace loving people of Manipur . The  people and UCM are now suspecting if the Government of India and our own state Government are betraying us. Both the Government of India and the state Government  has time and again stated that there wasn’t  any presence of NSCN-IM camps and cadres in Manipur .It was promised on several occasions that if NSCN-IM cadres are found operating in Manipur they would be dealt  with according to the laws of the land”, the memorandum added. 

The memorandum further said that on February 25, 2017 at Imphal public meeting for state legislative assembly election PM Modi expressed that the centre peace talk with the NSCN-IM will not hurt the interest of Manipur. There  is not a single word in the Naga Accord that is detrimental to the interest of Manipur and its people.

January 4,2019 on the Lok Sabha election PM Modi express that framework agreement will not hurt the sentiment of the Manipuri people.

And on April 7  4, 2019 Lok Sabha election PM Modi expressed that Framework Agreement will not affect territorial integrity and the administrative integrity or cultural integrity of Manipur .

The UCM further said that any solution of the angst and vexed Naga issue must not be at the cost of the existing collecting socio political, economy and cultural of the state.
