UCM re-affirms stand to protect Manipur’s integrity

The United Committee Manipur (UCM) today re-affirmed resolutions taken by the people of Manipur on this day of 2018 at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium here in Imphal. The meeting was held after organizing a mass rally by the United Committee Manipur.
The one day discourse on Manipur Integrity in connection with the October Mass Rally, 2018 re-affirmed to uphold and strengthen the principle of co-existence which has existed for ages among ourselves.
The resolution was adopted during a one-day discourse on Manipur Integrity organized by UCM at MEIPA Banquette Hall, Palace Compound today. Associate Professor Chinglen Meishnam, Associate Professor Konthoujam Indrakumar and Asst Prof. Arambam Noni attended as spokespersons in today’s one-day discourse. The discourse was moderated by Professor N. Joykumar Singh.
The one day discourse resolved that – “Any attempt to disrupt our aged Old Political, Social, Economic, Cultural and Historical identity and relationship among the various communities within the state under any administrative arrangement like Article 371(A) or ethnic-based policy bypassing the State Government and the People of Manipur will not be accepted under any condition”.
The one-day discourse also resolved that if the India Government fails to honour and respect people’s aspirations, the United Committee Manipur with the people of Manipur would be compelled to take its own ultimate decision to safeguard the future of Manipur.
