TYCM demands swift action in Rs. 30.36 Crore TA&H fund misuse

The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters, has urged the State Government, House Committee, and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to expedite their probe into the alleged mismanagement and misuse of Rs. 30.36 crore in the Tribal Affairs & Hills (TA&H) Department, Manipur. TYCM has called for appropriate legal action based on the investigation’s findings and the recovery of the misappropriated amount from those responsible.
According to official documents, five former officials of the TA&H Department – K. Daimei, Z. Solomon, Binodini Devi, Pheijao Singh, and N. Kaikho Mao – who served as Joint Directors/DDOs, have been linked to the alleged mismanagement of welfare funds.

These funds, intended for public welfare and the development of society, were reportedly misused, amounting to a serious case of fraud, embezzlement, and misappropriation of public resources. TYCM has been actively monitoring the issue in pursuit of justice and accountability, added the press release by the TYCM.
As key stakeholders, the tribal people of Manipur have the right to demand transparency in the management of welfare funds and the misuse of such a significant amount has directly impacted the development of tribal communities, the press release added. TYCM has urged the Manipur Government to ensure strict accountability in handling public funds to prevent future financial irregularities.
