The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), Council Headquarters, has extended full support to the Youth Raise for Change, Senapati (YRCS), in their campaign demanding accountability for alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Manipur.
In a strong statement, TYCM asserted that the right to clean drinking water is a fundamental right enshrined in the Constitution of India and called on both the Government of Manipur and the Union Government to take strict legal action against officials, departments, and agencies responsible for the lapses.
The Council announced that it will begin monitoring JJM projects funded under the New Development Bank (NDB) across the hill districts to verify proper execution and transparency.
Calling for collective vigilance, TYCM urged tribal youths to awaken and take an active role in ensuring accountability and justice in developmental programmes. It further appealed to all tribal youth clubs to unite and work responsibly for the welfare of their communities and the State, upholding their duty as the pillars of the nation.
