Imphal, Dec 1:

Two Indian women filmmakers have made a significant impact at the 17th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) held in Australia. Payal Kapadia’s second feature, All We Imagine As Light, claimed the prestigious Jury Grand Prize, while Lakshmipriya Devi won the Best Youth Film award for her debut Boong, a moving narrative that balances charm with a powerful message.
All We Imagine As Light, which earlier garnered the Grand Prix at Cannes and had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), is also vying for an Oscar nomination. The film, set in Mumbai, delves into the dreams and desires of three working-class nurses.
Meanwhile, Boong made its debut at TIFF, showcasing the heartwarming tale of a young boy in Manipur, played by Gugun Kipgen, as he embarks on an adventure to reunite his family.
Lakshmipriya Devi was seen celebrating her win alongside Nikita Parikh, Associate Producer of All We Imagine As Light, which was produced by Chalk and Cheese.
