A Two Days Seminar on the theme “Horticulture Activities for Income Enhancement & Livelihood Security: Opportunities and Challenges” under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), 2025–26 (1st Installment) was successfully organized on 3rd and 4th February, 2026 at the Training Hall of the Office of the District Officer (Horticulture & SC), Thoubal.
The seminar was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Kh. Premlata Devi, Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK, Thoubal, in the presence of A. Gomti Devi, SDAO, DAO (Thoubal/Kakching) Guest of Honour, and Kh. Malemnganba Meitei, DO(H&SC), Thoubal, President of the programme.
The seminar was organized with the objective of creating awareness among farmers, field functionaries, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders about the potential of horticulture activities in enhancing income and ensuring sustainable livelihood security. The programme also aimed to discuss emerging opportunities, technological interventions, and challenges faced in the horticulture sector under MIDH.
Participants actively interacted with the resource persons and shared their experiences and field-level issues. The seminar provided a common platform for knowledge exchange and encouraged adoption of modern horticultural practices supported under MIDH.
