Thoubal,April.17: Under the Sponsorship of RUSA Manipur, two day Food Mela is being organized by RUSA-Thoubal College on the theme “Learn & Earn” at its College Campus,Thoubal where in students presented different kinds of regional traditional dishes and presented demonstration regarding preparation and ingredients of the food items.
Dr.Rk.Yaiskul Singh, Additional Director University & Higher Education Govt. of Manipur, Okram Chaoba Devi, Principal Thoubal College and Ng.Maimu Singh, President Association of Food Scientists and Technologists,Manipur Chapter attended as Chief Guest, President and Guest of honour respectively.
Okram Chaoba Devi, Principal Thoubal College, appreciated the effort been taken by students to promote traditional food and asked Principal to promote the talent at large scale that would encourage the students in home Science and develop interest in others to choose the subject in academic course.
Many activities like Cultural Programme, Interactive Session, Meet the Artists of Manipur and Interaction with the Entrepreneurs will also be conducted.
About 34 stalls have erected for the mela and above 2 traditional stalls of Singju thongba, Singju and Kanghou are also opened at the Food Mela.
Large number of student and public visited the mela site to taste the different varieties of Food being sold at different stalls.
