Imphal, Oct. 23:

The Thadou Students’ Association (TSA) has appealed to the State as well as the Central Government to look into pathetic conditions of the highway stretch between Saparmeina to Motbung, along the NH-2 (AH-1). The Association had already made such appeals repeatedly in the last few years.
A statement by the student body expressed shocked to learn the reply sent by NHIDCL (NHIDCL/RO-Imphal/RTI/2020/813 dated 15.10.2020) to an RTI (MORTH/E/2020/04677) filed by activist SL Kamkhohao, the NHIDCL claims that the road “has already been repaired and maintained by NHIDCL”. Contrary to the response, the work is far from completion. Whereas, it is observed that filling of few potholes with pebbles and muds only
The TSA questions the NHIDCL if filling of few potholes accounts to the phrase “already repaired”?
“TSA is utterly infuriated over NHIDCL for furnishing a wrong statement in the RTI, thereby making a mockery of the Right to Information Act, 2005”, the statement said.
Therefore, TSA organizes for a joint sitting with NHIDCL on 26th October, 2020 and demand valid explanation from the NHIDCL as to why legal proceeding should not be taken up against them for providing a false/manufactured statement in the RTI reply.
