TSA-J&T Condemns assault on their General Secretary

Thadou Students’ Association, (TSA) Jiribam and Tamenglong branch expressed strong condemnation to the ill-treatment of Assam Rifles personnel to the Secretary General of the Thadou Students’ Association-General Headquarter(TSA-GHQ), Mr.Micheal Lamjathang Haokip at Sita Lamkhai Check Post, Tengnoupal on his way back to Imphal from Moreh on November 12.

In a statement the Thadou Students’ Association, Jiribam and Tamenglong branch stated that the student body is deeply enraged over their Secretary General, Mr.Micheal Lamjathang Haokip ill-treatment by the Assam Rifles with a motto of “friend of the hill people”.

“Such ill-treatment and unlawful acts of the Assam Rifle over a student leader, the Thadou Student Association, Jiribam and Tamenglong branch (TSA J&T)take it as deplorable incident and warns the Assam Rifles to stop such unlawful acts over a student leader”, the statement said.

The Thadou Students’ Association, Jiribam and Tamenglong branch (TSA J&T) also urged the concern authority to punish and suspend the Assam Rifles personnel who is involved in assaulting of the Secretary General, from his service. Such jawan is a deserter and doesn’t have any eligibility to join in the service of the democracy country, India.

The Thadou Students’ Association, Jiribam and Tamenglong branch also warned the state government of serious agitation if appropriate action is not initiated to the Assam Rifles personnel involved in assaulting the Secretary General of TSA-GHQ.
