A solemn tribute was paid today to the late Professor Naorem Sanajaoba on the occasion of his 15th death anniversary at the Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Complex, Lairikyengbam Leikai, Imphal East. The ceremony, held this morning, brought together people from various regions to honor the legacy of a man widely known as “Ojha.”
Professor Sanajaoba, celebrated for his lifelong dedication to fighting colonialism, racism, fascism, and casteism, was remembered as a staunch advocate for the oppressed. His contributions to legal philosophy and critical movements aimed at emancipation remain significant, said S. Bhobol, the managing trustee of the memorial complex.
“Ojha Sanajaoba was born into a modest family but rose to become an institution in himself,” Bhubol remarked. “His work on Manipur and international issues is both commendable and inspirational. Starting as a student leader, he established a unique school of thought focused on uplifting the oppressed.”
The event saw attendees pay floral tributes to the late professor’s portrait, reflecting the respect and admiration he continues to command.
