Tribute paid to martyrs of Manipur at Khudengshabi Chingdol

A solemn tribute was paid today to the martyrs of Manipur who had laid down their lives for the cause of the erstwhile nation. The commemorative event took place at Khudengshabi Chingdol, Nongpok Sanjenbam in Imphal East, and was organized by the Observation Committee of Athoubasing gi Ningshing Numit.
Chairperson of the Observation Committee, Maibam Ningthempishak Singh, addressed media persons on the occasion. He stated that the tribute-paying ceremony is an act of remembrance and respect for the forebears who sacrificed their lives for the state of Manipur. He also informed that beginning next year, the committee is planning to erect memorial stones in honour of the martyrs. The annual observance is also set to be organized in a more elaborate manner atop Chingkheiching, he added.
As part of the observance, attendees observed a two-minute silence and paid floral tributes as a mark of respect to the fallen heroes.
