Tribute paid to legendary singer Nongmaithem Pahari on 15th death anniversary

The 15th death anniversary of legendary singer Nongmaithem Pahari was observed today at Lamyanba Shanglen, Konung Lampak Imphal under the aegis of the Nongmaithem Pahari Memorial Trust.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the observance was organized by following the Covid appropriate behaviour. Floral tribute was paid to the portrait of legendary singer Nongmaithem Pahari. Prominent singers and artistes attended the observance.
Nongmaithem Chittaranjan Singh, commonly known as Nongmaithem Pahari, was born on 28 August 1934 and passed on 18 October 2006 in Imphal. He was one of the founding members of United National Liberation Front (UNLF) a revolutionary front formed in Manipur on 24 November 1964 which is still one of the largest insurgent groups in Manipur.
In his book ‘Eigi Diarydagi’, he presented a very clear picture of the genesis of the revolution in Manipur. The book is a Revolutionary History containing the genuine facts.”
During the floral tribute former Chairman of UNLF RK Meghan attended and this is the fourth time after he was released on completion of jail term and reached Imphal in November last week of 2019. He was first seen in public gatherings during the function of Lamyanba Nk Sanajaoba in 2020.
