The Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Central Forest Division, Government of Manipur, has announced the commencement of tree-felling operations along the Lamphelpat to Thangmeiband Road. The activity, scheduled to begin on December 28, 2024, is in line with the development work for the construction of a 245-meter-long cable-stayed bridge by the Water Resources Department.
Permission for the tree-felling was granted under Order No. 5/7/2021-22/DFO/C (RT), dated April 25, 2024. The Forest Department has urged the public to be aware of the operation and assured that the activity is necessary to facilitate the progress of the significant infrastructure project.
