JAC of Imphal – Moreh Road Transport Association has threatened to call indefinite blockade along the Imphal-Moreh road from August 26 if the state government fails to book the culprits involved in the destruction of the vehicles at Moreh on August 18.
“Over 30 vehicles belonging to various individuals including the members of the Imphal-Moreh Road Transport Association were vandalize in front of the Assam Rifles and State police:, said Dhakeshwor.
Around 24 passenger service vehicles including 7 Maruti Van, 6 Tata Sumo and 11 Tata DI belonging to the Imphal – Moreh Road Transporters Association were vandalize by a mob at Moreh on August 18 were displayed at Moirangkhom Moreh parking area today morning.
The JAC blamed also the Assam Rifles as well as the state security force for the destruction of the vehicles during August 18 crisis at Moreh. Speaking to media persons today afternoon at SEACO Community Hall, Janmastan, Ahanthem Dhakeshwor, Joint Secretary of the JAC said that almost all the vehicles were vandalize by the irate mob in front of the Assam Rifles and state security force deployed on the day.
Dhakeshwor further added that the Assam Rifles personnel and the state security force did not make any intervention when the irate mob was vandalizing the vehicles.
“The so called protector of the people only created trouble by harassing us at Khudengthabi, Tengnoupal and other area in the name checking the vehicles”, Dhakeshwor said.
He further said that if the police and the Assam Rifles could not protect us then there is no use of deploying them.

You may aware that Assam Rifles are Friends of the Hill People whereas State security forces deployed in Hill Areas look after the law and order situation. They may or may not take care of you. But it may differ from situation to situation. This may be their answer.
