As part of Special Summary Revision SSR 2022 under SVEEP, A Subhash Singh, IAS, District Election Officer/DC Thoubal distributed “I AM READY to Vote” T shirts to the participants of One Day Training Program of youths on Clean Village, Green Village jointly organised by SVEEP Thoubal, Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal and NSS Units of YK College at YK College Hall, Wangjing, Thoubal today.
The program was attended by A Subhash Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, N Munal Meitei, Range Forest Officer, Kakching Range, Thoubal Forest Division, Michael T Mate, District Youth Officer/SVEEP Nodal Officer, Thoubal, K Thoiba Singh, Ass Professor, HOD of Mathematics, YK College, E Budhi Singh, Ass Professor, Dept of Political Science, YK College and Dr S Birahari Singh Singh, former Principal and HOD of Education Dept, YK College as Presidium Members cum Resource Persons.
The program was opened with a Welcome Address by K Lokendro Singh, DACYP member, NYK Thoubal. In the 1st Session of the Training Program, Awareness on Climate Change, Green Innovations, Local Species Plantation was given by N Munal Meitei, RFO Kakching and Lecture on Making Villages plastic free, hygiene and sanitation was delivered by E Budhi Singh, Ass Professor. DC Thoubal, A Subhash Singh educated the gathering on the themes of SVEEP- Inclusive and Accessible Elections, Leaving no voters behind and highlighted the ease of enrolling or correction of electoral rolls through online means.
Dr S Birahari Singh, Former Principal of YK College educated and motivated the youths on the importance of Water Conservation and Rainwater Harvesting on the theme- Catch the Rain, where it falls, when it falls.
In the 2nd session, a Block Level Declamation Contest on “Patriotism and Nation Building” with the theme of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ was conducted and the winners were invited to the District Level Declamation Contest tentatively scheduled for 4th Dec 2021. The program was closed with a vote of thanks by L Sanahal Singh, Ass Professor, YK College.
