State traffic police today conducted drive at various places of Imphal city checking violation of traffic rules by the by both two wheeler and four wheeler riders. Several vehicles which do not have valid documents were fined on the spot. Some vehicles with no high secuirty number plates were also facilitated to registered their vehicles for the high security number plate on the spot by paying the required amount and those who cannot afford to pay were fined. Speaking to reporters, a traffice police official said that the drive is being conducted to inorder to control the traffic congestion and irregularity in the Imphal city. He said that the traffic congestion mainly occured as unqualified drivers comes out to the street.
