Traffic curbs for Police Half Marathon on October 18

Traffic restrictions and diversions will be enforced in parts of Imphal from 5 am on October 18 for the Manipur Police Half Marathon marking the 135th Manipur Police Raising Day.

The Traffic Control Police Wing (TCPW) said the eastern side of the road median from Kangla’s Western Gate to LIC Crossing, the southern side from LIC Crossing to North AOC, and the western side of the road median from North AOC to Nilakuthi will be restricted for normal traffic. The remaining designated sides will accommodate two-way traffic.

Diversions may be imposed at Khuyathong–LIC Crossing, Minuthong, Khongnang Ani Karak and Korengei Crossing, depending on traffic conditions. Emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire service vehicles, will be allowed to proceed.

The 21-km route will start at Kangla’s Western Gate, pass through LIC Crossing, North AOC, Khongnang Ani Karak, Korengei and Nilakuthi, and return along the same route to the starting point.

Parking has been designated near Johnstone Higher Secondary School and BT Park, between MPP Crossing and RK Book House, opposite MPP and in front of Pologround Gallery. Officials’ vehicles will be parked along Kanglapat, while security and escort vehicles will use designated spaces near GM Hall, Indira Park and Old Assembly Road.

SP, TCPW, Chiphang Cecelia Sopemla, MPS, urged road users to follow traffic personnel’s instructions and cooperate with the arrangements until the event concludes.
