Tractor driver died in an accident

It was not on the road, but in the field while the tragic accident which happened today at around 10 am. The driver of the tractor was ploughing a paddy field at Wangbal Loukol in Thoubal district, when the tractor he was driving turned upside down and fell on him.

Report said that the deceased Ningthoujam Bijen (age about 45 years) son of Late N. Joy Singh of Khangabok Meishnam Leikai, was busy ploughing the paddy field since early morning. At around 10 am the tractor fell to a channel which was not well prepared. The tractor dumped on the driver’s body, causing serious injury and trapping him.

Nearby farmers who saw the scene rush to save him but could not rescue him as the tractor was too heavy. Later, they called for more people and then took him out from the trapped. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but succumbed on the way.
