Dhaka, Aug 8: Police claim to have arrested one of the main financiers of militancy in Bangladesh.
A team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Mostaque Kha, the alleged financier of militancy, in Habiganj yesterday.
The arrestee used to collect money from different organisations in Turkey and used it to finance militancy in Bangladesh, Mollah Nazrul Islam, special superintendent of CID (Organised Crime) said.
Mostaque lived in Turkey for a long time, the CID official said.
The law enforcers will disclose details of the arrest at a media briefing at CID headquarters later in the day.
