Three days residential training programme on Planting Technology of Fruit Plants under “Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan” was concluded today at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat. The keynote address on Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan was given by Dr. Deepak Singh, Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK Chandel. The programme was attended by Dr. N. Prakash, Director, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Umiam; Dr. A.K Srivastava, Director, CAU, Imphal and Honey Chara, District Officer, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Chandel. The training was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chandel in collaboration with Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Chandel and sponsored by MIDH, Government of Manipur.
The three days residential training programme was conducted for the farmers of villages included in the Aspirational District under Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan. The resource persons during the training were Dr. Susheel Kumar, Scientist (Plant Pathology); Dr. SS Roy, Scientist (Horticulture); Dr. Arati Ningombam, Scientist (Entomology) of ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre; Chandramani Singh, SMS (Horticulture), KVK Churachanpur; L. Kanta Singh, SMS(Agril Engg.), KVK Imphal West; Dr. Sonamani Singh, ACTO(Agril. Engg.) and Dr. Y. Prabhabati Devi, ACTO(Home Science), of KVK Chandel; G.P Kabui, Retired CTO (Horticulture), KVK Imphal West and K. Joy Chandra Singh, Sr. Faculty, ICM – Lamphel. Altogether 30 farmers from Chandel Christian, Lambung, New Somtal, Sajiktampak, Lambung, Japhou and Chakpikarong participated the programme.
