A Three-day Photography and Videography Training Programme began today in Chandel under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) Scheme, with around 50 participants taking part.
The programme is being organised by the District Forest Office (DFO), Chandel, at the MACA Hall. The training aims to equip participants with practical skills in photography and videography, enabling them to pursue creative and professional opportunities in the field.
Dr. N. Munal Meitei, DFO/Chandel, attended the inaugural session as Chief Guest. Th. Bijoy Singh, General Manager of DIC/Chandel, was present as Guest of Honour, while N. Deepa, Range Forest Officer/Chandel, presided over the function. State Awardee Sng. Pearson Anal is leading the training as Chief Trainer.
Speaking at the event, Dr. N. Munal Meitei noted that while smartphones have made photography accessible to all, producing quality visual content requires proper training and technical understanding. He stated that the workshop is designed to develop skilled photographers and content creators who can contribute meaningfully to society.
He also highlighted the role of photography in documenting forests, wildlife, and environmental changes, as well as its growing importance in journalism and digital media. He expressed confidence that the training would help participants transform their interest into a sustainable livelihood.
Th. Bijoy Singh encouraged trainees to take advantage of government loan schemes to establish photography-related businesses and assured support from DIC/Chandel for entrepreneurial initiatives.
