Third gender warned

Imphal, Oct 6: An armed organisation called KCP (MC- Progressive) has banned wearing of women’s cloths by third gender community of the state popularly known as ‘Nupi Manbi Nupasing’ (Man who looks like woman). The organisation however said that used of women clothes by artists for spreading message to the people are exempted from the ban.
The armed organisation said that on September 29, 2017, while celebrating the birthday celebration of one T. Nonglenkhomba @ Bebe, a third gender community, son of Takhelmayum Mohen Meitei on his 28 years had polluted the dignity of the Manipuri society by wearing women’s clothes by various of his friend. The way they enjoyed with their friends showed no respect for the community of the area, the statement added. The armed organisation said  those performers of the day should not to repeat such act in future.
