The Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi strongly condemns the brutal killing of Athuan Abonmai on September 22, 2021 who was shot dead by gunmen at Pallong Village.
“We express our anguish over the killing saying that the heinous act is not justification in the civilized society. There is no honour in the manner of the act that led to the death of our leader. In this present time, it is universally followed that every opinion or worldview is shared and respected.’ Any moment of lack of agreement or debate, or differences of fundamental cognitive orientation shall be sorted out with ways that value mankind’s integrity and virtue. We have democratic tools and mechanisms for every task and engagement to our path towards our freedom movement. We have amicable solutions at our disposal. The alleged scales of such action mark the apprehension of uncertainty for a bold and assertive leader like Athuan Abonmai. We strongly urge the perpetrators to restraint such act and refrain from killing in future. The surrounding villages were perturbed by the scene of the heinous crime. We stress the extreme seriousness of the killing and urge the law enforcement to bring out the truth and give befitting punishment to the killers”, a statement by the Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi Manipur said.
