The demise of Nongthongbam Bimol is a great loss for the state of Manipur – AMSU

All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) has condoled the untimely demise of the Nongthongbam Bimol , President of the Manipur Peace and integrity council (Mapi Council).
“The demise of Nongthongbam Bimol is a great loss for the state of Manipur”, a statement by AMSU said.
The statement said that late N. Bimol was born in the poor family Khurai Chingangbam Leikai of Imphal East district. He helps to run the family and work for the Manipur society till he breath his last.
AMSU further stated that Late Nongthongbam Bimol is a multi-faceted activist and actively involved in various activities for the upliftment of poor and needy people particularly those living in the interior region of Hill areas in the state which the government cannot reach. He was also a former Convenor of Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) which is a joint civil society organisation of Manipur. He also took an active role in the Committee on Covid-19 Manipur to curb covid from Manipur. He was a true lover of the people of Manipur, and still remembers his contribution for the work of the Manipur nation.
After testing positive with Covid -19 on July 23, he was admitted at JNIMS Covid ward on the same day and underwent treatment but succumbed to the dreaded disease on August 13 at around 3.30 pm.
A two minutes silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
