Textile Minister Nemcha Kipgen distributes aid at Relief Camp in Kangpokpi

Textile, Commerce and Industry Minister of the Govt. of Manipur, Nemcha Kipgen visited the DIET training centre in Lhanghoi, Leikop village located in Kangpokpi district to distribute ‘fourth one time financial assistance’ for clothing and personal belongings for people living in relief camp. It may be mentioned that the district administration, along with NGOs working in the area, has been conducting various intensive skill development programs for internally displaced persons living in the district. These programs aim to enhance technical knowledge and skills, promote innovation, upgrade existing skills and targeting income generation of the inmates. This initiative by the government and NGOs is a step towards empowering and uplifting the displaced population in the district by providing them with es losential skills and resources for their future.
The DIET training centre currently houses 434 inmates from 109 families. The distribution event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi Mahesh Chaudhari IAS, ADC N. Shokhongam Baite and other Senior Officials.
