Tensions have reportedly surfaced at Leimakhong following allegations of damage to a paddy field and restrictions on access to agricultural areas, according to information received by Imphal Times.
According to the information, a paddy field at Leimakhong was reportedly damaged on October 3, allegedly by unknown miscreants.
The source further stated that for the past two days, Naga people have allegedly prevented Kuki residents of Leimakhong-Khunkho from carrying out agricultural activities and harassed them. One person who went to cultivate a field was allegedly forced to leave the area.
Several people have also reportedly been prevented from reaching their agricultural fields. The information stated that people coming from Kangpokpi were allegedly stopped at different locations and those heading towards their fields and residences were reportedly asked to turn back.
The route, according to the source, has long been used by local residents for movement.
