As bandh against conversion of Thangjing to Thangting has intensified, tension runs high at Torbung area after some of the tribal communities are strongly opposing to the bandh called. At around 2 pm today afternoon some of the tribal people confronted the bandh supporters at Torbung area. Police team which arrived at the spot had a hard time in controlling the situation. As the situation went worse, the police team fired several rounds of tear gas shell and mock bomb to control the situation. At least one woman sustained injury after she was hit by a tear gas shell fired by the police team.
The injured woman has been admitted at the Churachandpur District Hospital.
