Imphal, Sept 29: Tension grip Sena[ati town since yesterday after army arrested 3 cadres of NSCN-IM who had gone at Mount Everest College to check extortion threat by rival NSCN –K and KNF cadres at around 6 pm yesterday . Report reaching here said that Town commander of the NSCN-IM Blesso sent some of his cadre after receiving information about extortion being carried out by cadres of NSCN-K and KNF. The report added that the KNF cadres allegedly informed the Indian army (56 Mountain Div) about the presence of 3 NSCN-IM cadres armed with sophisticated weapon. The 3 cadres were arrested by the army along with arms and are presently detained in their custody.
At around 10 am today an emergency meeting of the people of Senapati was held and discussed about the issue. The meeting resolved to put halt of any vehicular movement along the Highways in Senapati district head quarters until the three cadres are released. During the meeting. During the meeting shop and business establishment remain shut. Till the filing of this story tension runs high among the volunteers of the supporters of the NSCN-IM.
It may be mentioned that the NSCN-IM is presently ensuing in peace talk with the government of India and a Frame Work Agreement has been signed between the two entities. However, the cease fire between the two did not extend to the state of Manipur.
